THA Event Bangkok

On Monday, June 24, 2024, the Thai Hotels Association held its June 2024 monthly member meeting in Ballroom 3 of the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Sermsak Pongpanich, Minister of Tourism and Sports, for honoring us with his keynote speech on "Thailand's Tourism Directions and Government Promotion Policies." He highlighted that from January to May 2024, Thailand welcomed over 15 million foreign tourists, generating over 1.1 trillion baht in revenue. However, to achieve the government’s ambitious goals of 3.5 trillion baht in tourism revenue and 36.7 million international tourists, additional efforts are required to attract 21.7 million more tourists and generate 2.4 trillion baht in revenue.

The Minister emphasized the importance of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports in driving and developing the country’s tourism sector. The ministry’s strategy includes maintaining existing markets, penetrating new markets to attract high-quality tourists, and integrating efforts with relevant agencies in the tourism industry. The government’s vision, “IGNITE Thailand’s Tourism,” is driven by five strategic approaches to stimulate tourism:

1. Creating positive experiences in every journey
2. Promoting the 5 Must Do in Thailand
3. Encouraging tourism in major cities and attractive destinations
4. Advancing towards being the Hub of ASEAN
5. Becoming a World-Class Event Hub
